When I first moved to Canberra in 2007, I rented a unit at Turner through Badenoch. I was impressed that you were always responsive to my requests (including relating to persistent possums!), but also that you expected I would maintain the property to a high standard to protect the owners’ investment. This balance of looking after both the tenant and the owner gave me great confidence to rent my own property at Belconnen through Badenoch when I was posted overseas. Dear Symon and the entire Badenoch Team, Badenoch Real Estate was first recommended to us when we were looking for a property manager we could trust whilst overseas on posting. A colleague recommended Badenoch saying that she had previously rented a property through your agency. She was so impressed by the level of service and the emphasis on looking after the owner’s asset that she said if she ever leased her own house she would go directly to Badenoch. That was over 7 years ago, in this time Badenoch has leased 3 of our properties to an impeccable standard and has assisted us to successfully sell our Bruce townhouse and “Space 2” apartment. When we recently decided to put our inner-south La Perouse Street home on the market we were again living overseas and needed someone we could trust so we engaged Symon. We knew that following the sale of our house we were going to be in the market as a buyer, so when visiting Canberra we spent some time liaising with other agents to view other houses. From what we saw it appeared that other agents would merely roll up, unlock the front door on a Saturday morning and stand there with a clip board writing down contact details. I asked one agent about the construction of the sub-floor in one home and he just looked at me blankly. For us Symon went above and beyond. He helped us by engaging fair and trustworthy tradespeople to repair maintenance issues so our house was in top condition before going to market, he provided excellent updates and kept us well informed at each stage which was crucial given we were overseas, he helped us trouble-shoot and solve a certification issue and organised the styling of our house so buyers could view it at its best. He was always mindful of our budget and had our best interests at heart. Some agents you just couldn’t imagine getting their hands dirty for you, in contrast, during a visit to Canberra just prior to going to market, I was at our house the day the marketing photos were being taken. I was so impressed with Symon and his team, when the photos were being taken there were some leaves on our deck, Symon raced to his car, grabbed a leaf blower and tidied our deck just so the marketing photos would be perfect for us. All this attention to detail and effort paid off and we received an offer above our asking price after 2 Saturday home opens. Hi Heather As we are about to part ways (until we are in the market again), we'd like to pass on our thanks to both your rental and sales teams for the service they have provided us over the last (almost) six years. As you are aware, initially we rented our townhouse out with Badenoch's as your company had been recommended to me by work colleagues. At that time I was proceeding on a three-year overseas posting. The regular updates and communications I received whilst overseas were very timely and informative and left us in no doubt that our property was being very well managed.  Since returning to Australia and again renting the property out after a brief period of re-occupation, we could not have been happier with the management provided by Philippa and the rental team. Additionally, the selection of tenants was impeccable as, on return of the property to us in preparation for its sale, it looked as though we had never left it. After initial discussions with Symon and Natalie about selling, we had no hesitation in putting the property in their hands and what a great decision that was. Dear Heather, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance with the sale of our property earlier this year.  My only regret is that as I have moved to Brazil, the sale of my investment property marks the end of one of the best business relationships that I have experienced in Australia. Dear Heather I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for managing my 5 rental properties. When I initially signed up with your firm - you told me not to worry any more about renting and management of the properties - that they were your responsibility now and that I would not have to be concerned about that again. You have been absolutely true to your word. During the almost three years your firm have been managing my properties I have ceased my continual worry, confident that you would deal with whatever issue arises and not trouble me unless necessary. Whenever a property is nearing the end of the lease you have acted to ensure that a new tenant is on place before the expiry of the existing lease, if an issue arises with a tenant you deal with it immediately and, as requested by me, do not trouble me with the minutiae.
