Killer Heat Wave
31 January 2017 Symon Badenoch
January 2017 has been one of the hottest and driest months on record in the ACT.
The daily temperatures have exceeded 30 degrees and we have had less than 10mm of rain. This trend is expected to continue well into February.
Those investors who have properties with nice gardens will no doubt have some of your established plants die due to these extreme conditions. I am also a qualified horticulturist and have full automatic irrigation at my own home and I am still having plants die due to the heat.
To exacerbate the situation, the hot weather has also combined with the majority of tenants being on Christmas holidays.
This is a complete contrast to the previous Winter where we had record rainfall!
