Gundaroo Drive Stage 2 Duplication – Start of Works

Gundaroo Drive Stage 2 Duplication – Start of Works

30 January 2018 Ben McHugh

Works to duplicate Gundaroo Drive between the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club entrance and the Barton Highway are due to commence shortly.

Utility relocation works will commence in February 2018 between Nudurr Drive and the entrance to the Gungahlin Lakes Gold Club. Road duplication works are planned to commence between Nudurr Drive and the Barton Highway in early 2018. Please refer to the map above.

During the construction activities every effort will be made to minimise disruption to the local community. This will include construction noise management, dust control and temporary traffic management arrangements, however some impacts will be unavoidable. The ACT Government appreciates your support whilst these works are in progress and thanks you for your patience.

Works are also continuing on the Gundaroo Drive Stage 1 duplication (between the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club entrance and the Mirrabei Drive/Gundaroo Drive intersection) which is now over 60% complete. To facilitate the widening of the carriageway, eastbound traffic will be shifted onto the new carriageway along this section of the road. The traffic switch is scheduled for late January/early February 2018.

Construction of the new signalised intersection at Gundaroo Drive and Mirrabei Drive/Anthony Rolfe Avenue is progressing well and expected to be finalised by the middle of 2018.

Major utility relocation works have been completed on Mirrabei Drive to provide an additional lane between Paul Coe Crescent South and Gundaroo Drive. Earthworks and stormwater installation are now underway on this section of road.
